The Performance Potential Index™ (PPI) is a readiness score from 0 to 100, based on the last 7 nights of sleep (with an emphasis on the most recent ones). It helps you understand how well your body and mind may be prepared to handle today's demands.
The higher your PPI, the more fully restored your body likely is—from your heart, lungs, and brain to your nervous system. The lower it is, the more your sleep suggests it might be a good idea to take things a little easier.
What does "take it easy" or "give it your all today" mean?
We tailor your daily message by comparing todfay's score with your 30-day trend. If your PPI is high, you might feel primed for a long focus session, tough workout, or a busy day. If it's low, your body may benefit from gentle activity, breaks, and earlier rest to prepare for tomorrow. Ultimately, this is just a guide; what you do with it is up to you!
Here's what helps to improve your PPI:
- Consistent sleep schedule (bed and wake times)
- A calming evening routine, including avoiding food shortly before bed
- Managing breathing issues (like breathing disturbances)
- Doubling down on healthy habits (activity levels, diet, etc.)
- Minimizing nighttime distractions and maximizing restful phases of sleep
To customize your PPI metric, we analyze key indicators like heart rate variability, breathing stability, sleep disruptions, and time out of bed to estimate your performance potential.
The PPI metric is located in the Sleep tab, in the section titled "Today's Performance Potential." Your PPI metric is displayed alongside an indicative emoji and an assessment of your overall weekly or monthly trend.
You can also find PPI in the rotating stats on the Home tab in the app.
PPI is not yet available in sleep report emails.
To personalize your PPI metric, at least five nights of sleep are required in the last 30 days. Therefore, your PPI should be available alongside the sixth recent sleep recording. If you don't see your PPI metric, check back later.
Additionally, PPI will not be available if less than 1 hour of sleep was recorded, or if there are insufficient heart rate measurements.
If your PPI seems inaccurate, check your smart bed's setup.
PPI should be available to all Fullpower® Sleep users, so if you're still not seeing your PPI metric, please contact support.
