Can the Sleeptracker® monitor distinguish between when someone is reading or watching television in bed vs. trying to fall asleep?
Yes, the Sleeptracker® AI Engine (SAIE) can differentiate between when a user is awake in bed and when they are actually entering early stages of sleep. To do so, the SAIE uses machine learned algorithms that take into account the breathing rate, heart rate and micro motion sensed by the Sleeptracker® system.

Setup

Where do I place the Sleeptracker® sensors?
Place the sensor(s) and attached foam protector(s) under the mattress, centered under your pillow(s). Do not remove the attached foam. The sensor strip should lay parallel with your pillows.
I am a single sleeper with a large bed and sleep in the middle of the bed. Which side of the bed should I choose when prompted during the Sleeptracker® monitor setup?
Select side one and connect your sensor to side one on the processor. Place the sensor under your mattress centered under your pillow where you spend most of your time sleeping.
My bed frame has slats which prevent the sensors from being placed under the mattress directly under the center of the pillow. Where should the sensors be placed?

If you have a slatted bed frame, place the sensor(s) on top of the slat nearest the center of your pillow. Ensure the sensor foam lies entirely on a slat, not half on and half off.

How do I install the sensors if there are large holes in the foundation that my mattress rests on?

If your mattress sits on a surface with holes in it, such as a slat foundation or metal grid or mesh, ensure the sensor system is positioned on a solid/flat surface so the sensor strip is pushed evenly into the mattress when you lie down. The sensor needs to make firm, evenly distributed contact with the mattress to function properly.

If the holes in your foundation are larger than the sensor system, use a thin piece of plywood or plexiglass that spans the holes to ensure solid sensor contact with the mattress.

How do I install the sensor(s) if there are slats narrower than my sensor(s) for the foundation that my mattress rests on?

If your mattress sits on a slatted foundation, metal grid, or mesh, ensure the sensor is positioned on a solid/flat surface so the sensor is pushed evenly into the mattress when you lie down. The sensor needs to make firm, evenly distributed contact with the mattress to function properly.

If the openings in your foundation are larger than the sensor, use a thin piece of plywood or plexiglass that spans the holes to ensure the entire sensor makes contact with the mattress.

Where should I place the Sleeptracker® processor?
We recommend placing the Sleeptracker® processor on the floor under or behind your bed. Run the wires from the sensors placed under your mattress out the top of your bed and connect to the processor. It helps to route one sensor wire at a time so you can ensure the sensors are plugged into the correct ports on the processor.
Where should I place the processor?

Ensure your processor is elevated off the floor. We recommend re-using one of the cable twist ties to hang the processor under your bed. There are environmental sensors in the processor which provide the most accurate readings when the vents on the processor are not blocked.

I have an adjustable bed. Is the Sleeptracker® monitor compatible?
Yes, the Sleeptracker® monitor works with any bed. After affixing the sensor(s) to the top of your adjustable base using the included double sided tape and connecting the sensor(s) to your processor, adjust the head of the bed up while keeping an eye on the wires. Ensure the adjustable mechanism doesn’t pinch the wires or pull them out of the processor when adjusting the bed. While the Sleeptracker® monitor can monitor your sleep while the bed is in an adjusted state, if the mattress loses contact with the sensor due to an extreme angle, you may need to lower the bed angle.
I use a bed skirt between my box spring and mattress. Should the sensors be placed on top of or underneath the bed skirt?
Attach the sensors under the bed skirt. The sensors will move around less and this allows you to wash the bed skirt without removing the sensors.

Wi-Fi Connection

What if my Sleeptracker® monitor fails to connect to my Wi-Fi network?
This issue is most likely to occur during the setup. Check to ensure your Wi-Fi router and Sleeptracker® processor are close enough for a good signal. Walls and other devices on the 2.4Ghz frequency range can interfere or reduce the signal strength. If the Wi-Fi router cannot be moved closer to the bedroom, a Wi-Fi extender may be a suitable option.
What type of Wi-Fi works best with the Sleeptracker® system?
The Sleeptracker® system requires a Wi-Fi router running on the 2.4Ghz band. If your router is set to use 5Ghz only, you will need to modify this in your router settings. The Sleeptracker® monitor supports both WPA and WPA2 security. While WEP is also supported, it is highly recommended to configure your router to use WPA or WPA2 as WEP is an outdated standard which is not secure.
Does my router need to be connected to the Internet?

Yes, in order to send your sleep data to your account, your Tempur-Pedic® Sleeptracker-AI® Monitor will need to be connected to the Internet through your Wi-Fi router.

How do I update my Sleeptracker Wi-Fi settings if I've changed the password or name of my home Wi-Fi network?
To adjust the Wi-Fi settings of your Sleeptracker® processor, go to Menu > My Smart Bed > Troubleshoot Smart Bed > Adjust Wi-Fi Settings, and then follow the on-screen instructions. Email support@sleeptracker.com if you need assistance.
Does the Sleeptracker® monitor use Bluetooth?
No, the Sleeptracker® monitor system uses Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth.
