There are sensors mounted on each side of the bed, so we recommend that you begin your sleep by laying on one side of the bed, and assign yourself to that side in the app.
For a Sleeptracker-AI® Self-Install Kit:
Select the left side in the app and connect your sensor to the black input connector on the processor. Place the sensor under your mattress, centered under the pillow where you spend most of your time sleeping.
If you have a pre-installed Sleeptracker-AI® smart bed, your bed comes with two sensors pre-installed. If you self-installed your Sleeptracker-AI® smart bed, please ensure that you have two sensors plugged into the processor. Adding a second sleeper is easy. From the first user's account, select Menu > Add Second User. A Quick Add Code will be generated, which you can either write down or share via email or text message.
The second user should install the Tempur® Sleeptracker-AI® app on their phone or tablet. If the code was shared via email or text, select the link and follow the instructions to complete the second account creation. If the Quick Add code was written down, launch the app on the second user's phone, select Join Existing Smart Bed, enter the code, and then follow the instructions to complete the second account creation.
If the second user has already created their own Sleeptracker-AI® account and is on the Home page, have the second user go to Menu > Pair Smart Bed > select Add yourself as a second user, and enter the Quick Add Code.
The Sleeptracker-AI® smart bed works with any standard innerspring, foam, memory foam or hybrid mattress. The Sleeptracker-AI® smart bed has been tested and qualified with Tempur®, Tempur-Pedic®, Sealy®, and Stearns & Foster® mattresses.
Yes, you and your partner will each have unique Sleeptracker-AI® accounts that monitor and store sleep data. During the app setup, you will be asked to specify which side of the bed you sleep on, allowing the system to distinguish you from your partner.
Pets at the foot of the bed should not affect your heart rate or respiratory rate data, but if they get up and move during the night, they could affect your sleep data. At Menu > My Smart Bed > Setup > Smart Bed Details, ensure you have “Yes" selected for “Are pets allowed on your smart bed?”
If you or your partner switches sides of the bed, simply update this information in the app from the Menu under My Smart Bed > Setup > Switch Sides.
If you get a new device, you won’t lose any of your data. Simply download the app on your new device and sign-in to your existing account.
No, you don't have to wear a device. Your sleep is monitored through the sensors which are under your mattress.
The system will not record data during a power outage. Once power is restored, it will automatically resume recording your sleep data. The Sleep Cycle Alarm, however, will still activate via your phone or tablet at the proper time if there is a power outage.
Both Sleeptracker-AI® accounts can be accessed from the same device, however, to prevent having to sign out and back in, it’s best for each user to have the app running on their own phone or tablet. If you choose to use a single phone or tablet for both users, the Sleeptracker-AI® app will display the data of whichever user is logged in. To see data associated with another account, simply logout of the current account by going to Menu > My Profile > Account > Logout and then login to the other account.
The processor requires access to an internet-enabled home Wi-Fi network. A mobile hotspot would work, too.
No, the system will still monitor your sleep if your phone or tablet is off, but the Sleep Cycle Alarm will not work with your phone or tablet off.
To restore your data, re-download the Tempur® Sleeptracker-AI® app, launch the app, and then sign in to your existing account. All of your data will be present.
Yes, the Sleeptracker-AI® Engine (SAIE) can differentiate between when a user is awake in bed and when they are actually entering early stages of sleep. To do so, the SAIE uses machine learning algorithms that take into account the breathing rate, heart rate, and micro motion sensed by the Sleeptracker-AI® system.
If someone else will be using your bed and you wish to turn off the Sleeptracker-AI® sensors, select the icon at the top right of the home screen, select Sensor Mode, then switch the sensors off. While off, the Sleeptracker-AI® sensors will not record, retain, or upload any sensor data. This includes sleep quality, heart rate, breath rate and air quality. The Sleeptracker-AI® processor will remain powered on and connected to Wi-Fi so that you can turn the sensors back on from this app later. You will need to turn ON your Sleeptracker-AI® sensors to resume normal full functionality.
The Sleeptracker-AI® app will guide you through the correct placement of the sensor(s) based on the bed type and size that you have.
If you have a slatted bed frame, place the sensor(s) on top of the slat nearest the center of your pillow. Ensure the sensor foam lies entirely on a slat, not half on and half off.
If your mattress sits on a slatted foundation, metal grid, or mesh, ensure the sensor is positioned on a solid/flat surface so the sensor is pushed evenly into the mattress when you lie down. The sensor needs to make firm, evenly distributed contact with the mattress to function properly.
If the openings in your foundation are larger than the sensor, use a thin piece of plywood or plexiglass that spans the holes to ensure the entire sensor makes contact with the mattress.
Ensure your processor is elevated off the floor. We recommend re-using one of the cable twist ties to hang the processor under your bed. There are environmental sensors in the processor which provide the most accurate readings when the vents on the processor are not blocked.
Yes, the Sleeptracker-AI® system works with any bed. On adjustable beds, ensure that there is plenty of slack in the sensor cables, so your bed can be adjusted fully without straining the sensor cables. As you lower the head of the bed, ensure your routing does not result in a pinched cable.
Check to ensure your Wi-Fi router and smart bed are close enough to each other for a good signal. Walls and other devices on the 2.4GHz or 5GHz frequency range can interfere or reduce the signal strength. If the Wi-Fi router cannot be moved closer to the bedroom, a Wi-Fi range extender or mesh Wi-Fi system may be suitable options.
The smart bed requires a Wi-Fi router running on the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band. The smart bed supports WPA, WPA2 and WPA3 security. The WEP security protocol is no longer supported due to its security vulnerabilities.
Yes, in order to transmit your sleep data to your account, your smart bed will need to be connected to the internet through your Wi-Fi router.
To adjust the Wi-Fi settings of your smart bed, go to Menu > My Smart Bed > Troubleshoot & Wi-Fi > Adjust Wi-Fi Settings, and then follow the on-screen instructions. If you need assistance, email support@sleeptracker.com and include your router’s brand and model.
The smart bed uses Bluetooth during the initial setup, but relies on Wi-Fi to communicate with the Cloud.
There are some combination modem-routers (gateways) which have trouble maintaining a consistent internet connection. These models affect all Wi-Fi devices, not only the smart bed. Many of these are cable modem gateways leased or rented by cable companies, and there are often alternative cable modem gateways available from your cable company if you request an alternate model.
In the app, select the Menu button, then select Sleep Cycle Alarm. You can select from built in wake up music or from your own music library.
Compatible Tempur-Pedic® Power Bases support silent alarms using the vibration motors in the bed to wake you up. To enable, select Menu>Sleep Cycle Alarm and scroll down to select Alarm Type: Vibrate Power Base. When turning on Vibrate Power Base, the audible alarm will be disabled. One must choose either Music/Sounds from the mobile device or vibrate power base. When the Vibrate Power Base alarm goes off, it will start with very subtle short vibrations and ramp up to 3 second long vibrations. If at any time during the vibration alarm you wake and wish to turn it off, use the flat button on your in-app remote to turn the vibration alarm off. If you don’t stop the alarm, it will run once, wait 5 minutes, then run a second time. At that point the vibration alarm will stop until the alarm is triggered the next day.
Note: For queen, full and synchronized split king beds, vibration motors for both sides (both sleepers) will go off when the vibration alarm is used. For split king beds which are configured to move independently, only the side of the split king bed configured for the alarm to go off will vibrate unless both sleepers have their vibration alarms enabled.
The Snore Response feature can be enabled with Smart Snore Position, Smart Snore Pulse, or both. Smart Snore Position will raise the head of the bed to the Anti-Snore position when the Sleeptracker-AI® smart bed detects intense sustained snoring on compatible Tempur® power bases. Smart Snore Pulse will vibrate when the Sleeptracker-AI® smart bed detects intense sustained snoring on compatible Tempur® power bases.
Snore Response will respond when the Sleeptracker-AI® smart bed detects intense sustained snoring.
Smart Snore Pulse will use vibration pulses when the Sleeptracker-AI® smart bed detects intense sustained snoring. These pulses are a gentle way to alert you to your snoring.

The smart bed detects the micro-motion generated from your heartbeat and respiration cycles with highly-precise sensors placed under your mattress.
Currently, there is no option to share information with other users. We are working on adding this feature into a Sleeptracker-AI® app update.
The system is designed to help you determine how you sleep best. The AI Sleep Coach will give you tips created specifically to help you sleep better and improve your sleep quality metric.
Light and REM sleep are considered to be closer to wakefulness than deep sleep. Deep sleep is characterized by a lack of prominent eye movement, a lack of bodily movement and decreased cerebral blood flow, with associated changes in heart rate and respiration rate. The system differentiates between these sleep phases by monitoring movement, heart rate, and respiration rate.
The AI Sleep Coach analyzes your personal sleep data to develop unique coaching recommendations personalized just for you.
Yes, sleep information from the Tempur® Sleeptracker-AI® app is shared with the Apple Health app if you enable this option during the initial setup flow.

If you have a compatible power base with massage features, the Sleeptracker-AI system will not monitor your sleep while the massage is on. The Sleeptracker-AI sensors function by detecting micro-movements from the mattress during your sleep, so the intense vibrations from the massage will overpower the hyper-sensitive sensors. Your sleep will be monitored as soon as the massage is turned off.
