Sleep Analysis

Sleep Report Organization

The app is designed to assign sleep reports to the date they end on, so if a sleep report started on January 1st at 6:00 PM and ended on January 1st at 11:59 PM, the sleep report will be assigned to January 1st. If the sleep report started on January 1st at 6:00 PM, but ended on January 2nd at 12:01 AM, that report would be assigned to January 2nd.

Inaccurate Sleep Report

If your sleep report is off by a certain amount of hours, ensure your mobile device’s time zone is correctly set, as well as the time zone for your Smart Bed. To check the time zone set for your Smart Bed, select  Menu > My Smart BedSetup, and you’ll see the time zone set under “Fullpower® Time Zone”. If you need to correct this, select Fullpower® Time Zone > locate and select your time zone, and then tap Yes.

If the above does not apply or if it does not help, then select "Help with Sleep Reports" below for further assistance.

Time to Generate an Automatic Sleep Report

The Fullpower® Sleep system does not immediately generate a sleep report, as the system waits to record the entire span of your sleep before it generates your sleep recording. By allowing time for the engine to determine if you're awake for the day, we are able to prevent multiple sleep recordings in a single day. If your smart bed starts automatically recording your sleep, then when you wake up in the morning, you can optionally launch the app and press Done Sleeping. This will end your sleep recording, generate your sleep report much sooner, and allow you to answer your debrief questions immediately. Otherwise, the smart bed will continue to check and see if you will be returning to your bed, and it may take up to one hour after you get up for your sleep report to generate.

Small Red Lines on the Sleep Graph (Restlessness)

On your sleep report, towards the top of the sleep graph, you may notice small red-orange lines, which represent periods of restlessness. For your sleep metrics, these time periods do count towards your total wake time, but not the amount of times you woke up in the given night. Restless sleep indicates a very small amount of time that you were in an "awakened" state. These time periods are a very common part of everyone's sleep, and something you most likely won't remember happening.

Sleep Quality Metric

The Sleep Quality metric is an indicator of your overall sleep quality. The value uses a proprietary algorithm with various parameters as input, such as sleeper demographics, total sleep time, sleep recording time, sleep efficiency, sleep states, sleep goal, and awake events.

Performance Potential Index™ (PPI)

The PPI Performance Potential Index™ helps you decide whether to push through the day or take it slow. The closer your metric is to 100, the better your readiness for the day.

Arousal Index

The Arousal Index tracks how many times per hour of sleep you experience micro-awakes or arousals. These indicate abrupt shifts in brain activity during sleep. You commonly stay physically asleep and don't notice them. The Arousal Index reflects sleep fragmentation: the higher your Arousal Index, the more disrupted your sleep is likely to be.

Arousal Index ranges (based on population data):

  • Low: less than 10
  • Medium: 10–20
  • High: 20–30
  • Very High: more than 30

Your Arousal Index is commonly shortened to "Arousals" in the Fullpower® Sleep app.

Where to access it:

  • In the daily sleep report email, look for the Arousal Index inside of the large ring/circle near the top of the email.
    • If you're not receiving your daily sleep report emails in your inbox, select here to fix this.

  • In the Fullpower® Sleep app, go to the Sleep tab and scroll down to the Sleep Metrics section. Your Arousals value is located at the bottom of the Sleep Metrics grid.
    • In the Sleep tab, tap on Day, Week, Month, or Year to view your long-term average Arousals value.

Note: your Arousal Index is unavailable when you sleep less than 4 hours.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV)

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is the natural fluctuation in time between heartbeats. It reflects how well your nervous system adapts to stress and recovery. HRV is measured in milliseconds.

We track it in two ways:

  • HRV SDNN captures the "big picture" — your overall hearth health, encompassing all changes.
  • HRV RMSSD gives a "rest and recovery" snapshot — perfect for monitoring current stress and recovery, like after a workout or a poor night's sleep.

Where to access it:

  • In the Fullpower® Sleep app, go to the Sleep tab and scroll down to the Sleep Metrics section. Your HRV RMSSD & SDNN values are located at the bottom of the Sleep Metrics grid.
    • In the Sleep tab, tap on Day, Week, Month, or Year to view your long-term average HRV values.

To interpret your HRV values, keep in mind: a healthy HRV is anything near or above your usual average, while a significant drop below that baseline can indicate stress, illness, or compromised recovery.

Pacemakers & CPAP Compatibility

The Fullpower® Sleep system is fully compatible with pacemakers and CPAP machines, and the system can accurately analyze your sleep while these devices are in use. Additional compatibility information about these devices is available here:

How to Improve Your Sleep

The best way to improve your sleep is by making small incremental changes. With the power of the Fullpower® Sleep AI Engine, we can quantify the effect of these small changes in your Sleep Quailty metric and in the AI Sleep Coach feedback which you receive. Be sure to get into a habit of consistently answering your debrief questions after a sleep report is generated so the AI Engine can deliver more personalized insights based on the answers you provide, your sleep performance, and based on the sleep performance of people like you.

  • Note: you can go to Menu > My Profile > Cognitive Behavioral Insights, to update your debrief questions. This change will take place in the next sleep report that is generated.
